Confirmation Formation

Program Information

The Confirmation Formation Program at St. Jude Parish is designed to provide the youth in our parish a strong understanding of the Catholic faith, its teachings, practices, and values. While doing so, we prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Our Confirmation Formation program is not carried out in a traditional classroom model. We will not have “classes” but instead talks and discussion groups. We meet every other Sunday evening (see schedule below) to break away from the idea that they are going to school.  Each Sunday we meet, we begin with prayer in Church where our young people will learn the various prayer traditions in the church.  Afterwards, we move to the school for a speaker, and break out into small groups to discuss the talk and faith in general. The small groups are led by young adults from our parish.

The program is designed to build essential peer connections and a deeper understanding of our faith. We hope that the experience this program provides will have a lasting effect on each Confirmation candidate and follows them through life.

This is a two-year program which traditionally occurs during 7th and 8th Grade.
